Day #5: Reaching 10K

Just before midnight last night, I passed my goal of 10K words. According to NaNoWriMo.org, at this past, I should achieve 50K by November 25th. However, I know that there are social plans and holidays that will set me back. Not to mention, fatigue may set in. I have been up until nearly 1AM the past two nights as I struggled to get my wordcount in.

NaNoWriMo Day #4

I will say that it's harder meeting the goal of 1,667 words consistently every day than you might think. Writing 1,667 words in one sitting isn't too difficult. Doing it every day is. There is a continuous temptation to slack off until another day. Then there were the distractions. You wouldn't believe the things I can come up with to distract myself. I caught up on the news. I listened to music. I shopped for Christmas toys (for myself--since I'm a grown-up, I can pick my own toys now). I cooked lunch, visited the Halloween candy bowl a few times, did laundry, and cleaned. I measured the freakin' walls and tried to mentally arrange non-existent furniture.

NaNoWriMo: End of Day #3 Update

I managed to pull off 2,925 words today and made up for my slacker day yesterday. I am about to pass out, which I wanted to do a couple of hours ago but forced myself to keep going.

NaNoWriMo Day #2 Progress and Bread (Maybe)

I managed to get in 684 words yesterday on the novel. This was a really busy week, and I was completely drained. I can't think at all when I'm exhausted. So, in this case, 684 words was a good day.

NaNoWriMo Day #1

It's on!

I know it's late, but life has been busy. I'm about to get started on my first writing session of NaNoWriMo 2018.
